#031: What's an "Eki-melo?"

Japan Fan Post #031

Well, "eki' or "駅" means "station," and if you take a guess that melo stands for melody, you've ended up with "station melody," or "駅メロ." So, what the heck is a "station melody?" A station melody is the short jingle invented by Japan Railways (or JR) to signal to their customers that a train will soon be leaving. However, these "eki-melos" aren't your average beeps and boops; these are real songs composed by the staff at JR. Here are a few!

Update!

So, I made it back from Japan, and since I'm moving, I have to drive down to my new home. However, this won't impact (or shouldn't) the post schedule.

Many people are probably wondering where the hell the rest of the Tokyo videos are. I haven't uploaded them yet because I'm not sure of the quality of the content. Upon returning from Hakone, we didn't do as much sightseeing and cultural stuff as we did re-visiting shops and such where we had seen things we wanted. But, nevertheless, I'm excited to put the new material up as one video as there is some cool stuff ,despite what I said earlier. Anyway, thanks for your patience and we will get back on track for Sunday!

Hey everyone! (Post #024-026?)

So, I haven't been posting lately (as you may have realized) but this is all worth it, let me tell you. It's all because I'M GOING TO JAPANNNNNNN!!! So, while I'm there, I'll be posting little clips and such of my trip! I think it'll all be worth it. However, I've never tried posting videos on Blogger before, so I may have to involve good ol' YouTube a little. My account (as you may want to see the videos) is listed under "Spencer Vogel," and I'm sure that you'll be able to access it through my Google+ page, which is to the right of the passage you're reading. Once again, arigato gozaimasu for reading and I'll see you in Tokyo!

-Spencer

PS: arigato gozaimasu is the romaji for thanks a lot (as you may be wondering)

PPS: romaji are Japanese words written with Latin characters (as you may be wondering)

PPPS: God, that's a lot of wondering.
